EPC – Turnkey projects

EPC – turnkey projects

Owing to our long-term experience in the mineral fertilizers and gas monetization market, and deep insight into the requirements that a modern plant may impose, GIAP offers a selection of contract strategies for both greenfield and brownfield projects.

EPC-contract Single-source responsibility, reliability, and deadline management

A versatile approach involving a complex of turnkey operations when the engineering company acts as the General Contractor and is held liable for the entire lifecycle, including engineering services (FEED development, engineering design activities and preparation of detail design package), equipment supply, logistics, installation and construction, as well as designer supervision, commissioning and start-up. The work is based on the “single window” principle, which constitutes an insurance to the Customer that the project will be implemented in line with both high performance standards and schedule. An EPC-contract implies that the General Contractor shall bear all the warranties and liabilities for potential risks at all work stages, and concurrent operations, which shortens the project timeline drastically. A fixed value of work is also a merit.

EPCM-contract Proficiency in project management

An EPCM-contract is considered a “full cycle” contract as well where the General Contractor provides all the engineering services required (FEED development, engineering design activities and preparation of detail design package), and equipment supply, while merely controlling the processes during the construction phase.

This approach offers substantial benefits as it requires less time to conduct a tender for EPCM-contract and there is no need in detailed terms of reference to be issued during the early works phase. In addition, the “Open Book” principle allows the Customer to gather all the details of the General Contractor, as may be required, and to take an immediate part in selecting the construction subcontractor thereby producing a favorable effect on further work stages.

EP-contract. Integrated engineering activities and procurement management

An EP-contract implies FEED and technology engineering, preparation of engineering design package and its expert reviews as required as well as development of detail design package and equipment supply.

More than 90 years in business brought GIAP to a truly unbelievable level of experience in process equipment engineering for ammonia, methanol and nitrogen fertilizer plants. We use high-quality materials only and keep in touch with leading Russian and foreign producers, which helps up stay informed of all the emerging innovations and manage the supply of particular equipment items.

With the project objectives and schedule in mind, GIAP can offer either comprehensive services (from technology selection to ramp-up to nameplate values), or engineering and procurement of equipment. Whatever approach is chosen, GIAP guarantees a single-source pass-through chain of responsibility, and integrated strategy embracing all project details and delivering an optimal robust design solution.

The Company’s unique competences in technology engineering, skillful and efficient professionals in our staff make affordable any EP(C)-project worth up to 10 billion RUR by using either our partners’ technologies or GIAP’s proprietary technologies.
