Methanol Plant Revamping with Expansion to 2800 tpd
Such revamping efforts may include the following engineering arrangements, but not limited to:
- Replacement of reformer’s reaction tubes with larger inner diameter items and increase in the amount of catalyst loaded.
- Replacement of burners with new more productive items with low NOx emission and improved design.
- Replacement of steam/gas mix coils with fully finned items having a greater heat exchanging surface.
- Replacement of natural gas dust traps with items of innovative design offering lower flow resistance.
- Elimination of sulfur absorption vessels by combining hydration and desulfurization in the same vessel with a bifunctional catalyst.
- Upgrade of natural gas flowmeters to other types with lower flow resistance.
- Revamping of the crude methanol condensing cooler and increase of cooling water supply to the cooler.
- Replacement of internals in the main distillation column with more productive ones.
- Revamping of the methanol vapor condenser in the predistillation section.
