MONO NA mono-pressure nitric acid production technology
GIAP’s MONO NA mono-pressure nitric acid production technology sized up to 420 tpd
The nitric acid technology is based on catalytical oxidation of ammonia with atmospheric oxygen and further adsorption of resulting nitrogen oxides with water. Nitric acid output may reach 135 ktons with natural gas and 160 ktons without natural gas.
Among the benefits of nitric acid production using natural gas are common pressure and low-temperature selective treatment of tail gases with ammonia.
The nitric acid technology without using natural gas reduces specific cost per 1 ton of product compared to the existing units.
MONO NA nitric acid technology includes the following process stages:
1. Air compression;
2. Ammonia oxidation in catalytic reactor;
3. Nitrogen oxides absorption to produce nitric acid;
4. Catalytical treatment of off-gases.
