Replacement of Unit GTT-3(M) with GTU-8

Replacement of Unit GTT-3(M) with GTU-8

GTU-8 is an axial compressor combined with a three-staged single-shaft turbine. The turbine is driven by the energy of burning natural gas and tail gas.

The GTU-8 engineering documentation was developed by GIAP in 2002. The unit was incorporated into Weak Nitric Acid Plant UKL-7 for air compression.

The key benefits of replacing Unit GTT-3(M) with GTU-8:

• Reduced harmful air emissions;
• Energy savings;
• Light-weight construction of the unit enabling repair work to be done in particular workshops;
• Service life of major equipment reaching 120,000 hours;
• Possibility to promptly change the engine for a replacement unit.

As the unit developer, GIAP provides a complete choice of services, starting from approval of detail design package, technical support to equipment supplies to unit commissioning.

Unit lead time of three months is also a key enabler.
