Plant conversion to low-temperature catalytical treatment with capacity expansion to 65 tph
Plant conversion to low-temperature catalytical treatment with capacity expansion to 65 tph
The solution to convert a unit to low-temperature selective catalytical treatment may be put in place while revamping active Weak Nitric Acid Units АК-72 using the DUO NA technology.
The GIAP engineered method of unit revamping implies the substitution of selective catalytical treatment with ammonia at 300–330° С for high-temperature catalytical treatment with natural gas at 760°.
When implemented in units, the solution:
• Adds value to revamping activities;
• Enhances unit capacity to 65 tph;
• Avoids the use of expensive catalyst APK-2;
• Reduces specific natural gas consumption by 40-45 m3/ton of MNH HNO3;
• Eliminates obsolete equipment requiring costly repair from the process;
• Improves unit reliability and operational safety;
• Reduces air emissions;
• Shortens the unit start-up time.
