GIAP’s Tandem AM ammonia technology

Ammonia Technology rated up to 3500 tpd

Instead of conventional steam reforming, GIAP’s Tandem AM technology uses the GIAP’s unique Tandem natural gas conversion solution. Natural gas consumption may be as high as 900 Nm3 per ton of gross ammonia production. Compared to the GIAP’s SMR AM technology, it cuts down natural gas consumption and CO2 emissions, and offers a high potential for further expansion. Typical capacities for Tandem AM technology: 600, 1500, 2100, 2500, 3500 tpd.

GIAP’s Tandem AM ammonia technology includes the following stages:

1) Natural gas compression;
2) Natural gas desulfurization;
3) Reforming using Tandem technology;
4) Carbon oxide conversion;
5) Removal of carbon dioxide from converted gas;
6) Methanation of residual carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide;
7) Syngas compression and syngas drying;
8) Ammonia synthesis.
