SMR AM Ammonia Technology

Ammonia Technology rated up to 3,500 tpd

GIAP's unique SMR AM technology employs steam reforming to produce syngas. Natural gas consumption may be as high as 950 Nm3 per ton of gross ammonia production. The technology is the most common process of ammonia production from natural gas in Russia and all over the world. Typical capacities for SMR AM technology: 600, 1500, 2100, 2500, 3500 tpd.

GIAP’s SMR AM ammonia technology includes the following stages:

1) Natural gas compression
2) Natural gas desulfurization
3) Primary reforming
4) Secondary reforming
5) Two-staged carbon dioxide conversion
6) Removal of carbon dioxide from converted gas
7) Methanation of residual carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide
8) Syngas compression and syngas drying
9) Ammonia synthesis
