GIAP's Conventional Adipic Acid 10, 30, and 50 ktpa technology
Conventional Adipic Acid technology
Adipic Acid 10, 30, and 50 ktpa technology
The adipic acid technology is based on oxidation of nitric acid cyclohexanol or mixture of nitric acid cyclohexanol and nitric acid cyclohexanone. A small amount of other dicarboxylic acids and water are produced along with adipic acid. In the course of oxidation, nitric acid is reduced to nitrogen oxides (nitrogen monoxide and dioxide, nitrous oxide).
The adipic acid production technology consists of the following stages:
1. Oxidation of nitric acid cyclohexanol or mixture of nitric acid cyclohexanol and nitric acid cyclohexanone.
2. Adipic acid extraction.
3. Adipic acid dehydration.
4. Dicarboxylic acids separation.
5. Nitrous gas compression.
6. Nitrogen oxides absorption.
Key benefits of the technology:
1. More stable process.
2. Reduced operating expenses.
3. Enhanced environmental safety and reduced environmental emissions.
