GIAP Top management took part in “Chemistry of a Big Country” forum in Dzerzhinsk
GIAP was represented by Arkady Merkulov, deputy CEO - Head of Technologies and EP Projects Division and Aleksandr Ovechkin, Deputy CEO - Head of Engineering Division.
The forum is backed by Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the State Duma and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
Key topic of discussion was an implementation of the national project “New Materials and Chemistry” launched in 2025 at the instruction of Vladimir Putin, President of Russia.
Currently the chemical sector accounts for 10,5% of processing industry, investment scope in 2025 reached 13,7 billion rubles – 5,8% more than values of 2024.
Within the forum GIAP leaders also participated in roundtable discussion in NIIK. It brings together approximately 50 representatives of leading industry companies and institutes, including PJSC Gazprom neft, Institute of catalysis SB RAS, JSC Tatneftekhiminvest-Holding, and others.
Focal points of discussion were development of domestic technologies in petrochemical and fertilizers production sector, creation and application of Russian catalysts.
The experts concurred in the opinion that only joint efforts will result in significant achievements. For that purpose it is necessary to establish interindustry consortia unifying four key sectors: academic science, engineering centers,
machinery engineering and manufacturing and large businesses.
GIAP team is confident that only consolidated efforts will lead to strengthening of Russia’s technological sovereignty and take the chemical industry to a new level.
