Focus on import substitution of technologies
Supporting development of domestic industries GIAP offers unique technologies for production of main nitrogen industry products – ammonia, methanol, nitric acid and ammonium nitrate. GIAP possibilities and experience in projects implementation were presented by its Commercial Director Mr.Arkady Merkulov within conference Gasochem-2023 held in May 25-26 at Gazprom VNIIGAZ venue.
Abandonment of the Russian market by western licensors raises necessity to completely rearrange investment projects. However unique GIAP developments which were the basis for creation of the world largest and technically advanced nitrogen industry can help not only successfully implement projects but also improve process and ecological parameters.
Impressive statistics speaks for itself: over recent years GIAP has participated in the main projects aimed at development of ammonia, nitric acid, ammonium nitrate and methanol production plants. GIAP specialists contributed to construction of new ammonia capacities at PJSC ACRON, new methanol capacities at JSC Shchekinoazot, new ammonium nitrate capacities at PJSC Togliattiazot, large-scale revamps at PJSC Dorogobuzh, LLC Sibmetakhim, JSC Minudobreniya and JSC Kemerovo Azot.
Nowadays GIAP keeps the status of a process leader of Russian nitrogen industry and is in charge of a number of projects for industry growth: development of Project documentation has been completed for a 5600 MTPD methanol plant for JSC Nakhodka Mineral Fertilizer Plant, ammonia production technology with capacity up to 3000 MTPD is being developed, realization of two ammonia revamp projects with capacity increase up to 2100 MTPD has started for JSC Grodno Azot.
Apart from technologies, GIAP specialists also have competences in designing of unique equipment and its manufacturing at factories in Russia, China, India and Iran. Extensive research base is also the key activity which helps forecast final result of revamp or construction.
Conference Gasochem-2023 was arranged at a high level and became a special platform for discussion of competitiveness of Russian technologies and development of new projects of natural gas monetization. The conference gathered more than 120 specialists from 40 companies, R&D Institutes and organizations working in gas-processing and gas-chemical field. The following speakers reported on field prospects and developments: Head of the Department of PJSC Gazprom - Yury Lebedev, Rector of Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRI) - Viktor Martynov, Director of RAS Institute of Catalysis named after G.K.Boreskov and RAS Academician - Valery Bukhtiyarov, and First Deputy General Director of LLC Caspian innovation company - Nikita Chetvertnykh.
