The technical reequipment will improve the current environmental performance of ammonium nitrate plant
In February 2020 EPC-Contract between Kemerovo Azot (included in SBU Azot) and JSC General Design Contract for technical re-equipment project of both AC-72 units for prilled ammonium nitrate production increasing and emission reduction has been signed with OJSC GIAP. Upgrading of Kemerovo Azot ammonium nitrate plant is performed under the programme of technical re-equipment.
Detail Design Documentation was developed by GIAP specialists in 2019. The GIAP' s scope of work shall also include equipment (+ proprietary equipment) supply, construction & installation activities.

Kemerovo Azot, part of the Siberian Business Union (SBU Azot) is the largest Chemical Complex based in Kemerovo in Siberia. The Complex produces and supplies nitrogen fertilizers for agricultural sector of Siberian Federal District; it is the supplier of ammonium nitrate used in the mining industry of Siberia and Far East (85% market share in the region); caprolactam producer (30% of the total amount in Russia and 50% of all-Russian product export.
The total amount of main product, produced by Kemerovo Azot in 2019, was about 4.6 mln tons. Based on operation results of 2019 Azot hit a new high on an output of six types of products: nitric acid, urea, caprolactam, ammonium nitrate, ammonium sulfate and UAN.
Several times this enterprise was recognized as the laureate of the following competition: “100 best goods of Kuzbass”, “Best Kuzbass Brands”, “100 best products of Russia”, “Leader of Environmental Activity in Russia”.
