
GIAP took part in the JSC Metafrax Chemicals’ largest investment project
Metafrax secured statement of conformity (SoC) for the completed subject of design documentation. The construction of “Ammonia/Urea/Melamine Complex running on Methanol Plant Blowdown Gas” is about to be completed. The site designer supervision was accomplished by GIAP specialists.
The Design Institute employees joined the project in August 2021 and dealt with detail design definition for OSBL area, and design definition for both OSBL and ISBL areas. Following the final inspection by RosTekhNadzor, Metafrax Chemicals secured a statement of conformity for the completed subject of design documentation.
The complex construction is a key milestone in the company growth and will bring Metafrax among the Russia’s most up-to-date chemical producers. AUM Complex design capacity will be 516 ktpa of urea, 298 ktpa of ammonia, and 40 ktpa of melamine.
As reported by RBC+, the best available technologies helped the company to improve its environmental performance – the carbon dioxide capture unit designed reduced by more than twice the emissions from the main processes. The construction and installation workmanship makes the new complex fully compliant with the European standards.
