JSC GIAP’s General Director Egor Krivchun participated in the Methanol 2022 Conference that took place on September 15 in Saint-Petersburg.

It was the 17th Conference in succession. The Conference was dedicated to the prospects of methyl alcohol market in Russia, as well as methanol plant design, environmental performance and chain of supply. The participants placed a special emphasis upon localization of process solutions and the effect the restrictions produce on the industry.

Egor Krivchun presented his report “Methanol: Global Trends and Opportunities for Growth in Russia”. The speaker noted that at present, Russia is the world’s sixth top methanol producer. He also underlined that the natural gas price for Russia-based industrial plants is still one of the world’s lowest, which can bring a competitive advantage to Russian producers.

The speaker made a particular point of the GIAP’s solutions for methanol plants. Thus, the Company offers methanol unit examination and refurbishment services for the existing plants, including their expansion from 2800 to 3100 tpd. GIAP’s SMR ME and Tandem ME technologies sized for 3500 tpd are promising for greenfield projects.
