GIAP and Artificial Intelligence Research Institute AIRI signed a Memorandum on Cooperation at SPIEF-24 venue
The agreement is primarily targeted at development and implementation of technologies based on artificial intelligence for chemical industrial facilities, engineering companies and equipment manufacturers.
Within Memorandum Parties plan to use generative artificial intelligence technologies for engineering of new facilities, revamps of existing ones and to carry out joint scientific studies for development and implementation of AI technologies for monitoring over process parameters and occupational health and safety compliance at the facilities.
The key tasks of the Partners will be development of industrial design algorithms using AI, incorporation of digital twins of large-scale nitric acid and organic synthesis products plants.
General Director of JSC GIAP, Egor Krivchun, highlighted: “Chemical industry development strategy demands acceleration of technological development and reduction of timeline for putting into operation of new production plants and revamp of existing ones. For more than 90 years GIAP has been successfully implementing construction projects and continues keeping pace with the time using BIM-technologies in comprehensive engineering. Memorandum marks a new stage of our companies development and demonstrates GIAP commitment to faster progress in engineering.”.
The company stated that there are plans to combine GIAP expert knowledge in engineering and AIRI expert knowledge in the sphere of generative artificial intelligence to create models enabling to shorten the period of engineering and putting into operation of industrial facilities. This is how fundamental knowledge and practices will transform into real economic effect for the branch.

Memorandum will be the starting point for cooperation between leading companies in the sphere of chemical industry engineering and AI systems development.
